COMMENTS & REFERENCE

We made it home alright and were trying to cool off, like everyone else.

Thank you for making our first fishing trip to the Marsh a good one and for trying so hard to find us a few Bass that would cooperate for us.

Both Jane and I are quite happy with the fish we did connect with and look forward to doing it again, when the weather backs off a bit and the fish are back on the bite.

Again, thank you for the experience.

IT WAS GREAT MEETING YOU AND THE FAMOUS (INFAMOUS) DON MONDAY. I WAS MOST PLEASED AND SURPRISED AT YOUR WILLINGNESS TO HELP US OUT AND SHARE YOUR SHINER SPOT. HOPE THE 20 WE CAUGHT DIDN'T HURT THE SPOT. IT LOOKED LIKE SCOTT AND HIS PARTY DID WELL ON TUESDAY. I REALLY FELT BADLY YOUR PARTY STOOD YOU UP.  THANKS AGAIN....YOU ARE A CREDIT TO YOUR PROFESSION .   BRUCE WOODARD  NASHVILLE

George, I wanted to let you know what a great time I had on the lake Saturday. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise with me.  I am sure that many of the things that I learned from you will apply for me here in Texas. I look forward to the next trip to Stick March/Farm 13 with you.  I will bring sunscreen, hat and jacket next time.

Good Fishing, Kirk Shankle

  Hi George!

I e-mailed you before and after reading this last report I want to say something: to those people who are complaining that you are hurting the guiding business there--- quit your whining already! For gosh sakes just grow up. I get the feeling you aren't going to quit publishing your reports and I certainly hope you don't. I guess I can't speak for anybody but me, my father and a few friends, but I can't tell you how much I look forward to reading your reports. I have been exceedingly lucky and have been able to spend a good bit of time fishing the Stick Marsh even though I live in Pennsylvania. We have some great fishing up here but it certainly isn't like the fishing there! It is so neat that you take the time to write the reports because whether it is in the summer and we are killing ourselves at work everyday or whether it is winter and we are freezing, I can read your reports and "slip away for awhile" and do some fishing with you on the Marsh! It's fantastic George and I'll bet we aren't the only people (especially up north) that feel that way. Last winter was the worst, we weren't able to go down but we are going this year! We are chomping at the bit to get there! I certainly want to see you and say hi and shake your hand and say thanks for the reports! I can't remember what kind of boat you have so let me know if you get a chance. I'll e-mail you again before we make our trip!  Thanks again and don't let anyone discourage you about writing the reports!

I hope you and your family have wonderful holidays George!
Take care
See you soon

SUBJECT: # 27212: Bass Guides

Submitted by randy (64.246.150.106) from NEW YORK on 11/30/02 5:35:00 PM

I am planning a trip to Disney in February and would like to spend a day fishing. Does anyone know of any good guides in the Orlando area.

  1. Submitted by Tim P from VIRGINIA says I recommend that you ...
...make the drive over to Stick Marsh and fish with BFHP sponsor George Welcome. We did the Disney thing 2 years ago and I took 2 days off to go over to Stick Marsh. Seems like it was 2-3 hours away from Disney. I fished with George 1 day and an old Navy buddy the second day. It was some of the best fishing I've ever experienced. We caught about 120 fish the first day and had about 90 of those in the boat before 11:00 am! I would highly recommend George Welcome and if I remember right, he told me Feb is probably the best month for BIG FISH.

My girlfriend and I own a timeshare in Orlando, Fl. that we brought two years ago. We have it during the first week in March. After fishing with George Welcome's son Scott two years ago at Stick Marsh, I don't want to fish anywhere else after driving that far. It is very possible to get a monster during the trip there, George and Scott will bust their butts trying to help you get one. These guys love to fish and it shows when you fish with them. If you are coming to Florida from New York, travel an hour and half more to fish with them. you will be glad that you did. They are great guides and class act. My 2 cents worth, Carl J.

I highly recommend George Welcome also, been with him several times and always had a great trip. He has the most knowledge of the area as he is on the lake almost every day, and he wants you to catch fish...

  5. Submitted by Mark from NY from NEW YORK says Why is George getting' all these kudos' ??
Because he deserves it !! Agree with everything above. Book a trip with George or Scott, you will have a blast !!
